17 year old classical ballet dancer from
Atlanta, Georgia
has been given the opportunity of a lifetime ~ to join the prestigious
Alvin Ailey Dance Company’s Summer Internship Program in New York City. This is a chance for Ianna to learn from the best and bring her talent to new heights.
Ianna’s love for ballet was sparked when she was just a little girl watching a Christmas special about the legendary Misty Copeland. At that time, Ianna's parents enrolled her in some local ballet classes, where she worked very hard and was subsequently accepted into a prestigious ballet conservatory, and has since devoted the last 6 years to mastering the art of classical ballet.
Her dedication and quiet strength have been the cornerstone of her journey.

Alvin Ailey was a visionary artist who sought to make dance accessible to all. He founded the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in 1958, creating a platform that showcased the richness of the African American cultural experience through modern dance. His work, especially the iconic piece Revelations, is a tribute to the resilience and beauty of the African American spirit.
The Ailey company has been a beacon of diversity and a symbol of empowerment for African American dancers.
It represents a world where the stage celebrates the uniqueness of the African American cultural experience, and for Ianna, and many like her, the Alvin Ailey Dance Company stands as a testament to what can be achieved with talent and determination.
